This Background should ba a plainly visable fine checkerboard pattern. 
If you can vertical bars present then you need to adjust the clock settings on your display 
until you get rid or minimise them. 
If the background just looks gray or has flickering lines on it, you can try adjusting your display's clock phase for the sharpest image."
